  • Simple Present Tense

    Simple Present Tense adalah tenses dalam bahasa Inggris yang digunakan untuk menyatakan habit (kebiasaan), unchanging situations, general truths dan fixed arrangement

    Simple Present Tense dibentuk dengan menggunakan verb 1 (take, live, eat, sleep) tetapi untuk orang ketiga tunggal (he, she, it, Rani, Dita, Cat) dilakukan dengan menambahkan -s pada verb 1 (takes, lives, eats, sleeps)

    Beberapa contoh kalimat simple present tense :

    1. He drinks coffee at breakfast. (habit)
    2. Water freezes at zero degree. (general truth)
    3. The Earth revolves around the Sun. (general truth)
    4. We catch the bus every morning.
    5. I work in London. (unchanging situations)
    6. Your exam starts at 9 am. (fixed arrangement)

    Untuk membentuk kalimat Negative and question forms menggunakan DOES (= the third person of the auxiliary 'DO') + the infinitive of the verb.

    1. He wants ice cream. (+)
    2. He does not want ice cream. (-)
    3. Does he want ice cream? (?)
    4. We walk to school everyday. (+)
    5. We don't walk to school everyday. (-)
    6. Do we walk to school everyday? (?)

    Untuk menjawab soal-soal dibawah ini, perhatikan subyeknya apakah orang ketiga tunggal atau bukan. Jika orang ketiga tunggal, maka harus menambahkan -s pada verb-nya.
